About me
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and English and a Bachelor of Design with Distinction (specializing in Industrial Design and Visual Communications)—both from the University of Alberta.
I’m CDP certified with the Design Professionals of Canada (DesCan).
I have worn many hats in this space of “Experience Design”: Graphic Designer, Illustrator, Web Designer, Front-End Developer, UI Designer, UX Designer, Service Designer—all of which help to inform and shape my approach to co-creation and consultation with users and project stakeholders.
Somewhere in between I was also a Naval Warfare Officer with the Royal Canadian Navy, ultimately serving as a Navigating Officer of a Maritime Coastal Defence Vessel.
Most recently I’ve been an instructor at MacEwan University, teaching the next generation of designers about Digital Experience Design and Interface Design (weaving best practices within Web, Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines, and Material Design.)
Outside of work I love my family, films, football (soccer), hockey, and tossing ye ol’ math rocks in D&D. All of which help me understand the power of narrative and compelling storytelling.
